Welcome to the Town of Anson. Previous designations, Titcombtown, Brookfield, Seven Mile Brook Settlement, 1R1 NPC WKR. Settled 1775. Incorporated March 1, 1798 the 118th town. Part set off to Industry February 10, 1823. Part of Emden annexed January 28, 1828. Part set off to New Portland March 5, 1830. North Anson set off March 20, 1845, reannexed March 13, 1855. Principal settlements Anson, North Anson.

Anson is bounded on the North by New Portland and Emden ; on the East by Madison ; South by Starks ; West by Industry and New Vineyard.
