Welcome to the Town of Carmel. Previous designation 3R2 NWP. Settled in 1798. Incorporated June 21, 1811 as the 186th town of Maine. Part of Etna annexed February 19, 1866.

Major body of water is Etna Pond.

Carmel is bounded North by Stetson and Levant ; East by Hermon ; South by Newburg ; West by Etna.
